At Clarkson, we're taking the study of information systems to a new level.

We can teach you how to mine, refine and transform data into meaningful information that supports critical decision-making in virtually every industry and business.

Clarkson was among the first universities in the country to offer a data analytics curriculum to undergraduates. As the field – and amount of data – exploded, our approach evolved as well, with our Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) major the latest and most innovative iteration.

We teach information systems in the context of business, providing an outstanding combination of technical and managerial knowledge that adds up to more career flexibility. Our BIDA curriculum encourages creative combinations of classes and minor studies, based on your interests. The result is a broader knowledge base that reinforces future career success.

You’ll connect to Clarkson’s strengths in software and system engineering to immerse yourself in the technologies that power modern business. Popular platforms are the tools of the trade here, and you can also design and build your own business management systems.

Clarkson champions close collaboration between professors and students, and the faculty teaching in the BIDA curriculum are some of the best-known researchers and educators in their field. Their connections to industry and business leaders keep our curriculum current and the pipeline for jobs robust.  Undergraduates are encouraged to join faculty research projects (a rarity in higher education!) to build their access to potential employers.

Internships, co-ops, and community-based service projects provide more opportunities for students to learn while diving deeper into areas that spark their passions.

Today’s data-driven economy is also a global economy, and no business education is complete without a global experience.  Business Intelligence and Data Analytics students will participate in either a semester abroad with our international partner schools or a short term intensive study trip to places such as Southeast Asia, Africa, or South America.

You will see how business is being done in other parts of the world, and how culture affects business practices.

Clarkson’s Reh School of Business is named among the best schools of business in the nation and graduates enjoy accelerated career success because programs like Business Intelligence and Data Analytics hone the mindset, skillsets and experiences that industries demand.
