Biography

Andrea Ferro is a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Her technical expertise is focused on indoor air quality and human exposure to particulate pollutants. She has also worked in the private industry, engineering consulting and non-profit sectors. The overall goal of Prof. Ferro’s work is to improve human health by improving air quality through source control, ventilation and purification strategies, education, and regulatory policy.

Teaching Interests

Registration
Registered Professional Engineer, State of Massachusetts

Teaching
Dr. Ferro teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental engineering, sustainable development, air pollution, and human exposure analysis. She is the faculty advisor for the Clarkson environmental conservation organization (ECO) and the Clarkson student chapter of the American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR).

Research Interests

Dr. Ferro's research interests are in the areas of indoor air quality, fate and transport of pollutants in the built environment, resuspension of particulate matter, human exposure to pollutants, and exposure versus health effect relationships for airborne particulate matter.
