Financial Registration Terms and Conditions

Financial Responsibility

By proceeding with the registration process, you are agreeing to payment of Clarkson University’s tuition, fees, room, board and other charges on your student account by the due date, regardless of your expected reliance on third-party resources, including but not limited to financial aid, employer reimbursement, outside scholarships, government assistance or other external resources.

By completing this registration “under seal” you understand that collection activities may continue for up to 20 years.

Late Fees/Student Account Hold

By proceeding with the registration process, you also understand that failure to make payment in full or payment arrangements accepted by the University and in accordance with University policy by the date it is due, your account will be considered past due and late payment fees will be assessed on a monthly basis until the balance is satisfied.  Following each due date, all accounts will be assessed either a finance charge of 1% and/or a flat $75 fee on all unpaid balances, including those created by deferrals.  Please refer to your payment arrangement terms for further information.

It is Clarkson University's policy to withhold transcripts and diplomas until the balance of the account is paid in full. Indebtedness to Clarkson University may automatically terminate current enrollment and indefinitely suspend future enrollment. Clarkson University reserves the right to request prepayment before allowing registration for future terms.

Collection Costs and Credit Reporting

By proceeding with the registration process, you also understand that should your account become past due, it would be considered an educational loan. Clarkson University reserves the right to place your student account with a third party collection agency or an attorney. If this collection process were to commence, you will be responsible for all costs for collections, including legal fees. Costs for collection are in addition to the past due balance.

In addition, you understand that once placed with a collection agency, your debt will be reported to the appropriate consumer reporting agencies or other agencies in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act 11 U.S.C. 1681.
