Biography

Dave Kruczlnicki is an accomplished organizational leader (with over 35 years of experience in C-suite and governing board roles in healthcare), strategic planning & leadership advisor to non-profit organizations (through his consulting firm, High Peaks Strategic Business Advisors, http://www.highpeaksadvisor.com), and educator (at both the undergraduate and graduate levels).  

For 24 years, Dave served as CEO of a hospital/health system, its parent company, and affiliated business entities, during which time annual revenue increased from $54 MM to $310MM, sites/facilities grew from 6 to 29, and jobs expanded from 1,400 to 3,000 as the hospital/health system received numerous awards and recognitions.  His previous hospital/health system experience includes Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), VP/Human Resources, and Vice President at a Blue Cross Plan.

Dave’s leadership and governance experience is extensive, having served 18 years on the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Association of New York State including a term as Chairman, 17 years on the Board of Directors of a regional hospital/health system association including a term as Chairman, and 24 years on the Board of Directors of a New England healthcare shared-services organization, including two terms as Chairman.  Beyond the healthcare industry, Dave is a Director of a $2.5B regional bank and chairs the Compensation Committee, having also served as past-chair of the Governance and Audit committees.  He has been a director of a privately-held paper manufacturer, various community economic development organizations, a non-profit organization that cares for the developmentally disabled, a non-profit home care agency, a regional symphony orchestra, and Director and Chair (two terms) of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce in Glens Falls, NY.

Since leaving a near-40 year career in healthcare leadership in 2013 for an encore career in higher education and consulting, Dave has advised a variety of non-profit organizations on strategy, growth, culture-change, and performance improvement.  In addition, he conceived, designed, and teaches a course on Healthcare Management at both Siena College and UNC/Chapel Hill, and conceived, designed, and teaches a course on Leadership at Siena.  He also teaches a graduate course on Health Policy at Clarkson University.

A graduate of Siena College where he received a BA degree in Political Science, Dave also earned an MBA with a concentration in Health Systems Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Dave is a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, that professional organization’s highest distinction.  He is a 30-year member of the Glens Falls and Malta NY Rotary Club and has been honored with a number of community service leadership awards.
