Program Requirements (9 Credits)
To earn the Advanced Certificate in Digital Transformation, students complete three required graduate courses (9 credits total). The program is structured to be completed in just one year, making it a fast and focused way to gain graduate-level expertise in one of today’s most in-demand fields.

EM 624 Introduction to Digital Transformation

Spring Semester (taken concurrently)
EM 625 Analytics for Decision Making
EM 626 Industry Applications

All courses are delivered in a synchronous online format with live weekly class meetings.

EM 624 – Introduction to Digital Transformation
Students explore the foundations of digital transformation, including what it is, why it matters and how organizations use technology to create competitive advantage.
Topics include business drivers, technology drivers, benefits, risks and high-level transformation solutions such as automation, digital twins and customer-centric digital strategy. The course includes guest speakers and a final project.

EM 625 – Analytics for Decision Making
One of the most important outcomes of digital transformation is access to data. This course focuses on the role of analytics and data science in supporting better intelligence and decision making.
Students learn descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics frameworks, along with practical methods for data acquisition, organization and analysis. The course includes industry guest speakers, fireside chat discussions and a foundational software certification such as Alteryx or KNIME.

EM 626 – Digital Transformation: Industry Applications
This course brings digital transformation concepts to life through real-world industry applications. Students explore how modern technologies and digital tools are transforming key sectors such as manufacturing, energy, aerospace and consumer products.
Topics include the use of digital systems across product design, production, operations, supply chains and customer service. The course emphasizes practical implementation and how leaders manage transformation at scale.

EM 626 is taken concurrently with EM 625 in the spring term, allowing students to connect analytics and industry applications in real time.
