About Young Scholars

The Clarkson School, a division of Clarkson University, will once again offer the Young Scholars Program during the summer of 2022. The week long program will be held starting Sunday, July 17 through Saturday, July 23, 2022.This program is for motivated and talented students who will be high school sophomores, juniors, seniors or first year college students in fall 2022. Please click here to submit the application.

Scholarships, Tuition and Fees

A scholarship for the Young Scholars Program is available for up to two students who can prove economic hardship as defined by the federal government’s 2021 low-income guidelines. To be considered, please write a short essay explaining why you need financial assistance along with a copy of your parent(s) W2 statement(s). Students and their families assume the cost of transportation to and from Clarkson University.

The cost of the program this year is $875, which includes instructional and activity fees as well as room and board. Students will reside in one of the campus dormitories during the week with supervision by summer camp counselors and staff. A $35 dollar non-refundable application fee must be included with the application. If admitted, the $35 application fee applies toward your tuition. 

Application and Admittance Forms

For Prospective Students

The priority deadline to apply is April 15, 2022 and the regular deadline to apply is May 15, 2022.  A completed application received by April 15 receives priority consideration for admission.  Selections for remaining openings are on a rolling basis after May 15 (regular deadline).  Maximum enrollment is set at 40 students.

Each applicant must include a non-refundable $35.00 application fee along with the application form. 

For Admitted Students

If an applicant is accepted to the program, the application fee of $35 will be applied to the total cost of the program which is $875. The balance of the cost ($840) must be fully paid by June 15, 2022.  

If admitted, you can pay your tuition for the program and complete the required forms by logging in to your Application Status page:

  • Payment can be made online with a credit card or electronic check made payable to Clarkson University ($840 which is less the $35 application fee).
  • Code of Conduct Form
  • Transportation Form 
  • CampDoc Online Health Records - A separate email will follow to complete this information

Continuing Education Scholarship

Once you successfully complete the program and meet admission requirements you become eligible to receive a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year) towards tuition if you attend The Clarkson School or Clarkson University full time for your undergraduate education. Please note that $1,000 per year is the maximum scholarship amount you can receive for attending Clarkson University summer programs, no matter how many programs you attend.
