Then sign up to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified First Responder (CFR). You can refresh your EMT skills, too, through one of our courses.

EMT Program - Potsdam

Clarkson EMT Program

Clarkson University, Clarkson Hall - 59 Main Street, Potsdam, NY

Two days a week (Monday and Wednesdays) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and one Saturday per month.

Course begins January 4th for refresher students and January 11th, 2027 for original students. This course concludes on April 24th, 2027 (Practical Skills Exam Date)

Instructor - Josh Cook

Original cost: $1,100 (includes text, uniform shirts and a vital signs kit)

PLEASE NOTE: Registration and payment is due by December 23, 2026.

Certified EMS agencies can submit for NYS reimbursement upon the student’s successful receipt of NYS EMS Certification.

Continuing Medical Education

Emergency medical Technicians (EMTs) can re-certify themselves by attending Continuing Medical Education Sessions (CMEs). They are conducted 8 months of the year and more information can be found here.
