Where Clarity & Collaboration is our Mission!
If you're stuck somewhere in the writing process between invention and final editing, don't stress! We're here to help. Our consultants are on hand to assist you one-on-one with all your academic and related projects, regardless of your major or current skills. This includes essays, business reports, labs, résumés, personal statements, theses and dissertations, presentations, as well as articles for publication, to name a few.
You might be surprised the first time you visit to discover we don't do your work for you; we work with you, collaboratively! So be prepared for our tutors to ask you a number of questions to help jumpstart the creative process and ensure you retain ultimate ownership of your work and final project.
Scheduling Appointments: Scheduled appointments are encouraged (use email link at right to schedule now), especially during busy times of the semester. Of course, walk-ins are always welcome, and will be seen as tutors become available.
What you will need: Please bring with you a copy of your assignment and any work you have started, ideally in print rather than on a laptop. If you are looking for information about citing sources or addressing common errors, utilize our online resources for assistance (Left Menu). Of course, feel free to visit us if your questions are still unanswered.
Location:You will find us on the first floor of Bertrand H. Snell Hall in Room 139. We're tucked in the back corner next to the computer lab.
Graduate Theses & Dissertations: We are no longer providing editing services for cover-to-cover graduate thesis work and dissertations. If you are interested in working with a consultant on a section of your culminating research paper, we would be happy to schedule you for an appointment for review (30 minute sessions guaranteed during peak demand times; 60 minutes max per session when demand is lower). If your needs include a thorough review and extensive editing of a lengthy paper intended for publication and defense, we would be happy to provide you with a list of editors who provide academic editing services, although the Clarkson University Writing Center does not endorse any one editor or guarantee the quality of work.
NOTE: We are open during Exams Week by special appointment. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to see if we have appointments available. Remember, the end of the semester means everyone is writing papers and as such, you need to plan accordingly and get an appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure you are able to obtain the help you need.
