Student Health Insurance

Student Health Insurance coverage is mandatory at Clarkson University for non-distance program students. Students must either have Health Insurance through their parent/guardian’s policy, their own policy, or enroll in Clarkson’s plan.

Potsdam Based Program Students 

2016-2017 Enrollment Instructions:

To assure clearance for student check-in, please log-in to your Student Service Center in PeopleSoft during the open enrollment period beginning July 11th, 2016. A pop-up box will appear with an e-form requiring your response to either elect Clarkson’s insurance plan or to indicate your own insurance coverage.

Capital Region Campus Program Students

2016-2017 Enrollment Instructions:

In early July, you will be contacted with more information about opting out of the Clarkson student health insurance option. 

Students who do not opt out will be charged via their student account, which students can access through the student portal in CampusVue. Deadlines and more information will be provided at a later time.

The 2016-2017 Student Health Insurance rate is $2,125.00 for the period 8/1/2016-8/1/2017 and United Healthcare policy information is forthcoming.

Potsdam Based Program Students

Summer Session 2016 Open Enrollment Instructions:

New students for Summer Session I and Summer Session II 2016 should follow the enrollment instructions above during the open enrollment period beginning May 9, 2016.

Continuing students from Fall 2015 or Spring 2016 who previously indicated their own insurance coverage may choose to elect the coverage offered through Clarkson during the open enrollment period by sending a request via e-mail to apickeri@clarkson.edu.  An e-mail will be sent within 3-5 business days to confirm enrollment and charges will be applied to your student account.

The Summer 2016 Student Health Insurance rate for coverage 5/1/16-8/1/16 is $584.00 and policy information can be obtained at http://www.haylor.com/clarkson.
