Orientation Schedule Spring 2022

You will receive a finalized, printed schedule upon your arrival to Clarkson.

Tuesday, January 11
  • 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Check-In/Move In. Office of Residence Life, 1st Floor, Price Hall. Students will receive room keys and schedule, complete check-in instructions, and get settled in their rooms.
  • 2 - 2:30 p.m. Orientation Welcome. Student Center MPR Rooms. Welcome to Clarkson!
  • 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Title IX/Boundaries. Student Center MPR Rooms. Clarkson has a duty to promptly respond to complaints of sexual discrimination in a way that limits its effects, prevents its recurrence, and prohibits retaliation. These are your rights under Title IX and 129-B.
  • 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Campus Tour. Learn about important spaces and how to navigate around campus.
  • 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Ice Breakers. Student Center MPR Rooms. Get to know your fellow Clarkson students by participating in fun group activities.
  • 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner. Student Center MPR Rooms. For exchange, international, transfer, and first-year students.
  • 6:30 - 8 p.m. Games. Student Center MPR Rooms. Relax and have fun with other students while playing indoor games.
Wednesday, January 12
  • 12 - 1 p.m. Lunch with Office of Student Life (OSL) staff. Student Center MPR Rooms. Have lunch and get to know members of the OSL staff.
  • 1 - 2 p.m. Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Training. Student Center MPR Rooms. The purpose of this training is to increase participants' cultural awareness, knowledge, and communication while navigating Clarkson. This session will serve as an introduction to the D&I team and the resources that are provided for all students on campus.
  • 2 - 2:30 p.m. What You Need to Know About Life on Campus. Student Center MPR Rooms. Learn the ins-and-outs of life on campus with your Residence Life team. They will give you everything you need to know to have a successful on-campus living experience.
  • 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Getting Involved on Campus. Student Center MPR Rooms. Learn about how to get involved through Knightlife, fraternity and sorority life, CUSA Senate, and find out about resources such as the shuttle bus.
Thursday, January 13
  • 8 a.m. First day of class!

International Student Check-In

All new international and exchange students arriving on campus must check-in with the International Center to activate their international records in SEVIS. Please proceed to the International Center in ERC Suite 2300 on the second floor of the ERC (Educational Resources Center). Be sure to bring your I-20/DS-2019, Visa, passport, and I-94.

 

Residence Life (Picking Up Your Keys)

International and exchange students will retrieve their room key (if applicable) from their program coordinators. New, incoming first-year and transfer students should pick up their room or apartment keys from the Residence Life Office on the first floor of Price Hall. Orientation schedules will be provided. Hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

 

Your Student ID

Go to the Campus Safety & Security Office (on the first floor of the ERC) to get your Clarkson ID card and car registration form. Hours: 24/7.

 

Email

Computer usernames and Clarkson email accounts are set up in advance for all new students. This information was sent to your personal email address. Students who still need this information can pick it up at the Helpdesk in the ERC (Educational Resources Center), 2nd floor. Please bring photo identification (student ID, driver’s license or passport). Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

 

Textbooks

You can purchase and/or rent all of your textbooks at The University Bookstore, downtown, 39 Market Street or for 24/7 shopping convenience, shop online at https://clarkson.bncollege.com/shop/university-clarkson/home Please be sure to have a copy of your schedule available when shopping for your textbooks. To save time in-store & online, pre-register for your rental account at https://clarkson.bncollege.com/shop/university-clarkson/home. And remember, when you’re done with your textbooks, no matter where you bought them, we’ll buy them back! Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

 

Online SAS Check-In

All students must complete online check-in before the first day of classes. Please log into myCU to check your clearance status and complete online semester check-in at mycu.clarkson.edu. If you are cleared, you will be asked to confirm your contact information. If you are not financially cleared, you will need to go to Student Administrative Services (SAS) in the center of Graham Hall on the first floor. Hours: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

 

Meal Plan Validation

Please validate your meal plan (if applicable) in the Campus Dining Office on the first floor of Cheel Campus Center. Hours: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. 

 

Mailbox Key (If Applicable)

Proceed to the mailroom in the basement of the Student Center to pick up your mailbox key. Hours: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., 1:30-3 p.m.
