Orientation Schedule

You will receive a finalized, printed schedule upon your arrival to Clarkson.

Friday, January 8
  • 9:15 a.m.-10 a.m. International Center Meet and Greet: Meet your International Center Coordinators and get to know your fellow International students. This will be conducted via Zoom. A link has been sent to you via email.
  • 10 a.m.-11 a.m. International/Exchange Student Orientation (Mandatory for new International and Exchange Students): This session introduces you to your Student Advisor from the International Center and other new International Students. This orientation gives you valuable information to assist you in making correct choices to maintain your immigration status, including specifics on your new culture at Clarkson, the area, and what you should be aware of as you become acclimated to this new environment. This will be conducted via Zoom. A link has been sent to you via email.
  • 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Academic Integrity (Mandatory for new Graduate, International, and Exchange Students): Moving from one academic culture to another has hidden difficulties. Get a thorough understanding of academic integrity and plagiarism concepts in U.S. universities at this session. This will be conducted via Zoom. A link has been sent to you via email.
Monday, January 11
  • 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Graduate Orientation (Mandatory for new Graduate Students): Meet your graduate coordinators and get important information about starting classes as a Clarkson Graduate Student. We will review important forms, contact information, enrollment, and more.
  • 2 p.m. -1 p.m. Your Rights and Responsibilities Under Title IX & 129-B (Mandatory for new First-Year, Transfer, International, Graduate, and Exchange Students): Clarkson has a duty to promptly respond to complaints of sexual discrimination in a way that limits its effects, prevents its recurrence, and prohibits retaliation. These are your rights under Title IX and 129-B.

International Student Check-In

All new international and exchange students arriving on campus must check-in with the International Center to activate their international records in SEVIS. Please proceed to the International Center in ERC Suite 2300 on the second floor of the ERC (Educational Resources Center). Be sure to bring your I-20/DS-2019, Visa, passport, and I-94.

 

Residence Life (Picking Up Your Keys)

International and exchange students will retrieve their room key (if applicable) from their program coordinators. New, incoming first-year and transfer students should pick up their room or apartment keys from the Residence Life Office on the first floor of Price Hall. Orientation schedules will be provided. Hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

 

Your Student ID

Go to the Campus Safety & Security Office (on the first floor of the ERC) to get your Clarkson ID card and car registration form. Hours: 24/7.

 

Email

Computer usernames and Clarkson email accounts are set up in advance for all new students. This information was sent to your personal email address. Students who still need this information can pick it up at the Helpdesk in the ERC (Educational Resources Center), 2nd floor. Please bring photo identification (student ID, driver’s license or passport). Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

 

Textbooks

You can purchase and/or rent all of your textbooks at The University Bookstore, downtown, 39 Market Street or for 24/7 shopping convenience, shop online at https://clarkson.bncollege.com/shop/university-clarkson/home Please be sure to have a copy of your schedule available when shopping for your textbooks. To save time in-store & online, pre-register for your rental account at https://clarkson.bncollege.com/shop/university-clarkson/home. And remember, when you’re done with your textbooks, no matter where you bought them, we’ll buy them back! Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

 

Online SAS Check-In

All students must complete online check-in before the first day of classes. Please log into myCU to check your clearance status and complete online semester check-in at mycu.clarkson.edu. If you are cleared, you will be asked to confirm your contact information. If you are not financially cleared, you will need to go to Student Administrative Services (SAS) in the center of Graham Hall on the first floor. Hours: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

 

Meal Plan Validation

Please validate your meal plan (if applicable) in the Campus Dining Office on the first floor of Cheel Campus Center. Hours: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. 

 

Mailbox Key (If Applicable)

Proceed to the mailroom in the basement of the Student Center to pick up your mailbox key. Hours: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., 1:30-3 p.m.
