Riane Dodge Appointed Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education of Physician Assistant Studies at Clarkson University

Riane Dodge

Riane Dodge has been appointed assistant professor and director of clinical education of Physician Assistant Studies at Clarkson University.

She has her bachelor of science from Le Moyne College, her master of science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States and her master of science in Physician Assistant Studies from Clarkson University.

Dodge’s areas of interest include internal medicine, women’s health, sports medicine, nutrition and functional medicine. In terms of research, she is interested in studying the association between nutrition and disease in poor socioeconomic areas and rural communities, as well as nutrition and sports performance. Outside of the medical field, she enjoys running, hiking, her vegetable garden, and anything that involves being outdoors with her husband and dog. She also enjoys coaching soccer.

Before joining Clarkson, Dodge worked as a hospitalist at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY, where she provided care to patients within the medical floors, acute rehab unit, and mental health unit. She also worked in urgent care and family medicine where she provided care for all age groups. Prior to that, she worked as an emergency department technician.

Dodge is nationally board certified and licensed to practice as a physician assistant in the state of New York. She holds certification in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support. She is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In graduate school, she served as president of Clarkson University’s first Students Without Borders program and organized an international medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
