Clarkson University and Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj, Romania start a new Erasmus+ agreement

Release Date
Friday March 11, 2022
Erasmus+ Babes-Bolyai

Clarkson University just started a new Erasmus+ agreement with the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj, Romania. This is the second Erasmus+ agreement at Clarkson University, in addition to the one started in 2017 with Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania.

The agreement will allow exchange between the two universities for faculty or staff and graduate students. In many ways, it is very similar to the previous Erasmus+ program. The major difference is that while the Erasmus+ agreement with Iasi allowed the exchange of faculty, staff and students mostly in the field of biology and chemistry, the new Erasmus+ agreement with Cluj will also allow exchanges from the same fields of biology and chemistry, but also biochemistry and chemical engineering. More information about the new Erasmus+ program and about the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj can be found in the following link: https://cci.ubbcluj.ro/erasmus/erasmus.php. Please see a complete listing of all global opportunities in CU Global.

The funding for this program comes through a grant from the European Union, and it is adjusted each year. This new agreement will be valid between 2021-2027.

“It’s great to have such an agreement with Babes-Bolyai University”, said Tess Casler, the Director of the International Center at Clarkson. “It is also in a city that is in the heart of historical Transylvania, a region in Romania. We look forward to seeing students - faculty - and staff participate in this exciting opportunity.”
