Procter & Gamble Supports Clarkson University's Engineering Laboratory of the Future
The Procter and Gamble (P&G) Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has selected Clarkson University to receive a Higher Education Grant of $10,000 in support of the University’s nationally ranked Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering.
The P&G grant will be used to support the school's efforts to upgrade laboratories in order to provide a "Laboratory of the Future" experience for students.
“Procter & Gamble has been a long-time supporter of Clarkson’s mission to educate talented and motivated men and women to become successful professionals,” said Clarkson University President Tony Collins. “Given the structure of our curriculum, with its strong emphasis on laboratory experience and hands-on learning, engineering students will benefit from the improved Common Engineering Laboratory, resulting in future engineers who are well-prepared to shape our increasingly technological world. We appreciate P&G’s continued generosity."
The grant, combined with matching funds from Clarkson, has funded the purchase of a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, permanently housed in the Common Engineering Laboratory. The wind tunnel will primarily be used to support the fluid mechanics course series. This new equipment will generate increased student interest across various academic disciplines and enhance their engagement with the analysis of fluid flows and their familiarity with experimental methodology.
