Lifeng Wang Appointed Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University

Lifeng Wang has been appointed assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Clarkson University.
He received his bachelor of engineering, master of science and Ph.D. degrees from Tsinghua University in the People’s Republic of China.
Before coming to Clarkson, Wang was a postdoctoral associate and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program mentor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a teaching assistant and research assistant at Tsinghua University.
His research interests include the mechanical behaviors of polymer fibers, thin films, microstructures, and composites; the design and nanomechanics of biological materials, cells, and bio-inspired materials; and the mechanics of carbon nanotubes, graphite, and their composites.
He has coauthored more than 20 articles for academic journals and has presented at even more conferences. Among a dozen awards are the National Science Award from China’s Ministry of Education and China’s National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award.
He is a member of the Materials Research Society, American Physical Society and Society for Experimental Mechanics.
