More than 1,500 Clarkson students recently polished up their resumes, dressed for success and headed to a fair -- the two-day Spring Career Fair on the Potsdam campus.

Clarkson University Alumnus Josh Parker Maple Business
Clarkson Alum Josh Parker spoke to students about his successful maple syrup business.

The event, hosted by the university’s Career Center, brought more than 150 potential employers to Clarkson to meet with students eager for a future job or internship. In the month before the event, the Career Center team gave individualized support to some 500 students preparing to put their best foot forward at the fair.

About 40 percent of our graduates accepting full time employment first met their employers at a Career Fair. Companies in attendance this year ranged from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, from Alcoa Corporation to Target Inc. The Career Center holds the fairs twice a year; the next one is September 7 to 9.

Clarkson is regularly cited as one of the nation’s leading research institutions when it comes to career placement, earning potential, and ROI.
