The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious respiratory illness that can cause a range of symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough and fever. It can be more severe for some and lead to pneumonia or breathing difficulties. Clarkson was notified on Thursday, March 26, 2020 that a University employee has tested positive for COVID-19 and we send our get-well wishes that they will be back to good health soon. Our larger Golden Knight community, has also not been spared. We mourn the passing of Clarkson Trustee Walt Robb, age 92, the Capital Region of NY's first victim of COVID-19.
This website is a way for the Clarkson Community to stay informed and connected to resources that are available. To ensure the health and safety of our community, we are monitoring best practices and protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and proactively working with county and New York State representatives from the Department of Health; federal and State representatives from the Department of Education and Department of State; and experts from regional health and safety organizations. This is an evolving situation. Updates will be made to this site as more information becomes available.
