Available Scholarships
The Conrad Foundation and Clarkson University have partnered to give high school students with a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship a one-of-a-kind gateway for their product ideas and solutions to drive future global sustainability - through two Conrad Foundation-related scholarships.
Conrad Foundation-related scholarships at Clarkson University include:
- Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Scholarship - all Conrad Challenge participants will be awarded $12,000 per year, for a total value of $48,000 over four years. Finalists will be upgraded to a Conrad Challenge Scholarship.
- The Conrad Challenge Scholarship - finalists of the Conrad Challenge will be awarded $15,000 per year, for a total value of $60,000 over four years.
*Note: students will not receive both the Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Scholarship AND the Conrad Challenge Scholarship together.
Scholarship Benefits
In addition to the scholarship award, Conrad Challenge finalists/scholarship recipients will also benefit from special access to Clarkson’s university-wide innovation ecosystem, Clarkson Ignite, and award-winning network of resources for entrepreneurs and new ventures. They will also be able to further leverage the Conrad Foundation’s support to advance the most promising projects presented by the Challenge finalists each year.
Do you qualify?
In order to qualify for each of these scholarships, you must apply for admission to Clarkson University and you must have participated in at least one year of the Conrad Challenge, and you must notify us of your participation by December 15th if you are applying for early decision admission and January 15th for regular decision admission.
For the Conrad Challenge Scholarship, you must have been named a finalist in the Conrad Challenge in any year. Students will only be eligible for one scholarship regardless of the number of years they have participated.

Conrad Scholarship recipients will be considered for other Clarkson Scholarships and Grants in addition to the Conrad Scholarships however eligibility for certain Clarkson Scholarships and Grants could be impacted as overall gift aid being received is considered during the selection process for some Clarkson Scholarships and Grants. ROTC,Veteran Benefits, and Tuition Remission Programs are programs that have unique rules and regulations and therefore will not be combined with other Clarkson Scholarships and Grants to include the Conrad Scholarships.
