Applying to The Clarkson School
Applying to The Clarkson School is just like applying to college. In fact, if you’re accepted to The Clarkson School and attend, you’re automatically admitted to Clarkson University. Upon successful completion of The Clarkson School year, you may continue at Clarkson University as a sophomore. Or you can carry your credits to the college or university of your choice.
Among the factors we consider in your application are your secondary school record, scores on the SAT or ACT exam, and scores on the SAT Subject Exams. Since numbers don't tell the whole story, we also consider personal recommendations, extracurricular activities, individual honors and accomplishments, special talents and your own personal statement. Please visit Steps to Apply to submit the online application and to learn more about the required materials to complete your application portfolio.
Important Admission Dates
Completed applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year as long as space remains available, so early application is encouraged. Applicants are notified of their admission decision within 3-5 business days once the application is complete. Financial Aid will follow within 5-7 days, provided the FAFSA is completed and the results have been sent to Clarkson University.*
Fall students arrive Tuesday, August 23 to begin the orientation process.
Campus Visits & Interviews
We strongly encourage all applicants to visit The Clarkson School and to have an admissions interview. Your visit can include taking a campus tour, attending a class, or request a meeting with a professor in your field of interest. Accepted students can apply for an overnight visit hosted by a current Clarkson School student.
To schedule a visit or campus interview, please call The Clarkson School Office at 315-268-4425 or 1-800-574-4425. If you can’t make it to Potsdam, we can also help you arrange an off-campus interview, phone interview or Skype session.
