During the fall 2011 semester we asked for Clarkson School alumni to verify their contact information and also provide a personal update for The Bridge.  We received an overwhelming response and were unable to include all of the updates in our printed version of The Bridge.  The complete list can be found below.  Contact Kathleen O'Leary (koleary@clarkson.edu), Associate Director for Student Life, to provide a personal update and optional picture which will be added to this page.  If you already have an update below and would like to include a picture, please send it to Kathleen.  

Alumni Updates from Fall 2011

Jack Larson TCS ’79 - first Bridging year program (’79). Have 4 children, one of which is a Junior at Potsdam State for teaching at the present time.

Kevin Moore TCS ’79 - Married 23 years.  Implant Coordinator for Pain Clinic of Northwestern WI.  Still enjoy music - horticulture, outdoors, especially water.

Daniel Williams TCS ’79 – I am currently employed by TOK America Managing the business development activities in the Eastern Region.

Tim Wiltshire TCS ’79 - I still work for IBM, Senior Technical Staff Member in Lithography Engineering in Fishkill, New York.  My wife Lupe and I are now kind of empty nesters, our oldest Rebecca is graduating from Liberty University this May (Lord willing!)  Somehow I got elected as the "activities chair" for CU class of '82 30th reunion in 2012, so I should be back to Clarkson again next July.

Roger Secours TCS ’80 - I currently work for Visa, Inc. as a Chief Software Engineer.

Joe Badger TCS ’80 - I am the owner of JBI Corporation, a battery testing laboratory.  I also have a retail business. I have been married to Debbie for 20 years. We have a 26 year old son. Both work for me. I collect / restore muscle cars as a hobby. Both businesses are open 7 days a week, so we stay pretty busy.

Elaine “Lainey” TCS ’80 - I am living in Potsdam; I am engaged to a Michigan State University grad; and I have worked for the same company for 26 years. My son has graduated from University and lives in Toronto; my daughter is attending university and lives in Potsdam.  I would enjoy hearing from other TCS 1980 grads.

Doug Ashline TCS ’81 - Living in the metro-Phoenix, Arizona area; work as a Senior Technical Leader for Environmental Compliance at Versar, Inc. for 10+ years. Give back for my good life by volunteering for all the animals at the Arizona Humane Society!

Lauren Atwell TCS ’81 - I am married with two boys, the oldest just applied to Clarkson for admission as a Chem engineer, I am a Vice President of Reynolds, Inc and large general contractor involved with construction of water infrastructure and heavy civil projects including well drilling, transmission mains and treatment plant construction.

Catherine Burns TCS ’81 - I am currently a student support teacher in Hall Beach NU, its way way north in the Artic. If anyone wants to write its General Delivery Hall Beach, NU X0A-0K0.

Pari Annamalai TCS ‘82 - I sold my company (Planvisage) in January to some investors and accepted a position as Vice President of Industries and Presales with JDA Software based in Singapore.  I am having fun investing and starting the building of our dream home in Austin Texas. 

Michelle Ayer TCS ’82 - I have been a medicinal chemist with Merck for the past 19 years. I live in central New Jersey with my husband and 15 year old son. I would love to hear from others from the class of '82.

Jeffrey Fishman TCS ’83 - I'm currently Manager of Small Business Lending Systems for CapitalSource Bank in Chevy Chase, MD. My partner and I have been together for 15 years. We live in Falls Church, VA.

Frank Coon TCS '83 - I retired from the Navy after 25 years this fall and am currently a full-time MBA student at RPI.  My family still lives in Niskayuna, NY and our daughter Gloria is expecting to graduate from Mount Holyoke College this coming spring.  How time flies.

Jim Ellsworth TCS '84 has been named to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Instructional Design. He also remarried this summer, to the University of Virginia's Dr. Stephanie Moore.

Patti (Alton) Smith TCS ’86 - Now lives in Kentucky with her husband and five children.  She currently home schools and teaches in a local co-op one day a week.

Ion Freeman TCS ’86 – Ion is living in Brooklyn Heights quite near the BQE with his wife Gigi and toddler son Brooks. He is a Vice President at Bank of America. The comedy class he took in 2009 - 2010 with Mark Jacobs '86 failed to launch either one's successful stand up career.

Mark Jacobs – TCS ’86 - Mark Jacobs lives in Garrison, NY with his wife, Elena, and his two kids, Jessica (17) and Ben (14).  He is in his 11th year as Director of Longview, a pre-K to 12th grade small private school based on the premise that kids should share in the power of running their lives and their school in order to become independent and responsible adults.  Mark also voraciously plays racquetball, a sport he loved to play at Clarkson 25 years ago. 

Kanna Brown TCS ’86 - I am currently a Contracts Negotiator for the US Government.  I live in a Boston suburb with my husband of 18 years, Paul, and our 2 dogs, Jasmine and Lilly. 

Jill Thiemann TCS ’87 - I am winding down my two year term as President of the Clarkson Alumni Association. 

Kimberly Shoen TCS ’87 - As for my update I am living happily in southern New Hampshire with my two daughters, practicing law as an indigent defense and family lawyer.

Lili Barouch TCS ’88 - I am currently a heart failure and cardiac transplant cardiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I have two kids, ages 9 and 11, still play the violin, and have taken up triathlon as a hobby in my spare time.

Indrajit Bhattacharyya TCS ’88 - I recently completed my PhD in (Electronics and Communications Engineering) and I am hoping to get a Post doctoral research post in Europe.

Jennifer Cook TCS ’88 - I am currently in my eighth year of teaching at Rhode Island College in Providence, where I am an Associate Professor of English and Secondary Education. I teach writing and rhetoric and prepare English teachers, and I also direct the Rhode Island Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project. I'd like to thank the kind advisors at The Clarkson School who allowed me to max out on Liberal Arts classes instead of making me take Organic Chemistry and Differential Equations! Little did I know then that English and writing was the path I would follow (though I had an inkling).

John Dumoulin TCS ’88 – John is currently a Regional Parts and Inventory Specialist for Wiese USA.  He and his wife Lisa have 3 Boys, Jack a Junior, and Connor and Mitchell, both Sophomores.

Tom Emerson TCS ’88  - Tom is a principal software engineer at EBSCO Publishing. His twin daughters just started their freshman year in high school, which doesn't seem possible. He regularly gets together with Kim Shoen ('88) for dinner and laughs.

Elise O’Brien TCS ’89 - Currently a civil litigation attorney in Newport Beach, CA practicing labor/employment law and agricultural law.

Spencer Segalla TCS ’89 - Currently teaching history at the University of Tampa; married and parenting one toddler and one preschooler.

Thaddeus Covert TCS ’89 – Just moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico as the CTO of a startup called Great Bay Energy.

Marie Theobald Kerbaugh ’89 - I am on a leave of absence from my procurement job at IBM in Burlington, VT.    I am living with my husband and two young children in the French Alps for two years.  The French lifestyle is fantastic; beautiful scenery, strong family focus, great food  and lots of vacation time!

Wallace Murdoch TCS ’89 - I'm still the Director of Operations for the Health unit at RAND corporation, headquartered here in Santa Monica.  Hoping to get back out East at some point to catch up with old friends and run a marathon or two.

Merete Johansens TCS ’89 - I am happy to report that i got married this summer :-)  I moved back to the states from Norway to be with my husband, so now i have to re-read most of medical school and take all your horrible board exams!! But life is good.  We just found a lovely house to start our new life together.  Can't wait to celebrate christmas there!!

Craig Todd TCS  ’89 - I am currently living in Burnt Hills, NY and working as an emergency room physician in Ogdensburg, NY.  I am married and have 2 step-sons (13 and 11) a daughter (7) and two dogs.

Andy Danboise TCS ’90 – Is currently the Director of Operations over Grounds and Custodial for Aramark at Polk County Schools in Tampa, FL.  He lives in Tarpon Springs, FL with his wife Pam and stepdaughter Kandace. 

Jeremy Cook TCS ’90 - I went to Texas A&M University for my undergraduate degree and I am now a Human Resources Representative for Flowserve. www.Flowserve.com

Una Okonkwo Osili TCS ‘90 - I am an associate professor of economics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.  She is also Director of Research  at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.  Una and her husband, Vop have 2 children –Arinze (age 11) and Tasia (3).  We would love to catch up with old friends (unaosili@yahoo.com).

Andrew Vivalibre TCS ‘90 - I help to build hydroelectric and other renewable energy generation systems in Honduras. I have three healthy boys ages 2, 3 and 4, and have learned to be fluent in Spanish.

Lisa Kubon TCS ’90 - I have a BS from Tulane University and went on to complete a MS from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.  I have been a High School Science teacher since 1995.  I am married for 17 years and have two children ages 11 and 10.

Lynne Stackpole-Tripp  TCS ’90 - I'm currently a Senior Network Engineer with Time Warner Cable. I'm married with two cats and a chinchilla.

David Snow TCS ’90 - I am currently commanding the 3rd Battalion 2nd Aviation at Camp Humphreys, Pyongtaek, South Korea.  My wife, Robyn (Clarkson '95), and I have two daughters (15 & 12) with us living in the far east. 

Robert Surh TCS ’91 - Since graduating from the Clarkson School in 1991, I completed my undergraduate degree at Carnegie Mellon University.  Thereafter, I earned my Juris Doctorate from the Villanova University School of Law and practiced as a class action plaintiff attorney in Philadelphia, PA until 2007.  In 2007, I moved to South Korea and took an in-house corporate counsel position managing litigation at LG Electronics.  In 2010, I moved to the number one fashion company in China and Korea, E.Land World, Ltd., and am Chief Legal Counsel of its Foreign Legal Affairs Department.  My main practice areas are currently, M&A and cross-broder joint ventures related to the fashion industry.

Christina Caldwell TCS ’91 - I'm working for PwC's healthcare consulting group, living in St. Louis, and getting married next fall. It would be great to reconnect with any 1991 Schoolies in Missouri, ccald10@yahoo.com.

Dawn-Marie Turner TCS ’91 - (wow, it seems like a long time ago now!)  I have two sons, Kit (9) and Rowen (7).  I have been working at our family business in Hemmingford, Quebec, since 2008, and am in the process of moving there, but will still receive mail in Plattsburgh.  Our company is an aerospace machining facility which makes engine parts and assemblies for commercial, not military, use.  I continue to support an end to wars and the creation of a more peaceful and just world.  I have a degree in Political Science from Amherst College, and have worked as a community organizer in Boston and as the Family and Community Services Coordinator for our local Head Start program.  After my husband left in 2007, I had to make a career change that would provide me with both income and flexibility to raise my boys.  Probably too much info, huh?

Anna (Whalen) Seip TCS ’91 – She is a married mother of two (Marshall and Lila) who works as the editor at Messiah College, a Christian institution in central Pennsylvania.

Kristen (Smith) Stoner TCS '91 - is Associate Professor of Flute at the University of Florida. She released a solo CD last year, "Images for Solo Flute" that is available on amazon and iTunes. She has forgotten ALL of her calculus, physics, and chemistry since The Clarkson School. :)  She lives in Gainesville with her husband Dan and two daughters (7 and 4).

Eric Berg  TCS ’92 - He  is a tenured unix systems administrator at SUNY Buffalo. He lives in Williamsville, NY, with his wife Autumn (married in 2000) and two children, Griffin (born in 2005) and Lily (born in 2010).

Robert Bramhall TCS ’92 - Wife, three boys, 8,7, and 4. Everything is great and working as Chief Commerce Director for Bridgeline Digital. 

Itohan Osayimwese TCS '93 - She joined Ithaca College in Fall 2010 to teach architectural history and theory and architectural design in the newly- established Architectural Studies program. She invites TCS students to contact me if they are considering Ithaca College and Cornell University. Itohan would be happy to chat and to host visitors to Ithaca!

Daniel Newell TCS ’93 - He currently works for Google in Lenoir, NC.  Between attending The Clarkson School in 1992-1993 and now, he's been software engineer, computer technician, attorney, stop motion animator, hotel manager, accident specialist, and he wrote a novel.  Daniel is married with two kids.

Jake Mincemoyer TCS ’94 - Update is that I'm a partner in White & Case's bank finance practice, and have been in London since March 2010, having moved across from New York. 2 children - Iva, 1 in November and Luka, 3 this month.

David Huang TCS ‘95 - In July, David was commissioned as a lieutenant in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, which responds to to public health emergencies around the world.  He also began his third year working as an epidemiologist for the CDC, doing statistical work related to national health indicator projects.

Britt Mitchell TCS ’95 - As for updates, I moved to Abu Dhabi in August 2010, and I work as an Academic Advisor and Academic Development instructor for female Emirati students at Zayed University. So far I have gained a new appreciation for Arab culture and am learning the Arabic language. It has been a pleasure to work with local students and colleagues, many of whom defy the western stereotypes of Arab women. It has also been a wonderful chance to travel in the region. In the past year I have visited Oman, Lebanon, Turkey, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, and Bulgaria. It's exhilarating to meet and learn from people from such diverse walks of life!

Lydia Dutton TCS ‘96 - I am studying for a paralegal degree and may include MBA studies in the next year or two. I have published a short book of poetry and I am reading history in my free time.

Elizabeth Wood TCS ’97 - In January 2010, I purchased the veterinary practice where I worked as an associate veterinarian since 2007.  I am currently enjoying the new challenges associated with being a practice owner!

Adrian Kaspar Pritchett TCS ’97 - I am in my third year working as an attorney in the fields of bankruptcy and divorce from my office in Athens, Georgia.

June Shen-Epstein TCS ’97 - I've been in Burlington VT for the past few years with my family and full time raising my two girls. I also have a small Etsy craft business and can be found on Facebook or at juniebabie.etsy.com

Krista Freego TCS ’98 - I am an Assistant Conflict Defender for St. Lawrence County.  I have been in this position for two years as of December.  I moved back to Upstate NY from North Carolina to be closer to family.  I am currently on the Board of Directors for the St. Lawrence County Arts Council and for the Grasse River Players.

Curtiss Cobb TCS ’98 - Curtiss obtained a PhD in Sociology from Stanford University in June and now works as Director of Survey Methodology at Knowledge Networks.

Liana (Son) Suantak TCS ’98 - I am now back in the US after I traveled around the world for my husband's job for the last 7 years after I finished my PhD, in which time I managed to have three girls. 

Rusty Lowder TCS ’98 - After leaving TCS I joined the local fire department where I worked for 6 years.  I then worked one year in Iraq as a contract firefighter.  Afterwards I made a career switch and will be finishing my aerospace engineering degree at NCSU in May 2012. 

Kyle Yanchura TCS ’98 - In 2000, I graduated from University of Michigan with a BA in Women's Studies / Women's Health.  For the past 11 years I have been working in the fields of social services and healthcare.  I am currently a Financial Counselor at NorthShore University HealthSystem located on Chicago's Northshore.  Beginning 1/2/2012 I will be enrolled at Johns Hopkins University in a special program leading to a BSN/MSN and certification as an Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Nathan "Rambo" Landon TCS '99 - First off,  things are going very well,  I got married to my wife Shelley in September, 2009.   I live in Northern Virginia,  just outside of DC.   I am the CEO and founder of a boutique technology development firm here called Digital Operatives.   We have been in business since 2005, and have been having fun since.   I still serve in the Marine Corps Reserves with Marine Special Operations Command in Camp Lejeune, NC.   I look forward to everyone from the Clarkson School to get back in touch!

Sheena Adams TCS ’02 - I am currently a registered Nurse at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center working in their Emergency Department.

Kristen (Berglund) Menslage TCS  ’02 - I am currently working as a Project Manager for Gordon Brothers Group in Boston.  I recently had my first child, Lillian Grace in August.  

Thomas Church TCS ’02 – He has just started a position as Szegő Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University.

Edward Andocs TCS ’02 - Since finishing TCS and graduating from Clarkson University in 2005 I began working for Verizon in '05 where I am currently a senior analyst. I married Martha Marshall (Clarkson '05) in the fall of 2009.

Sarah Cummings  TCS ’03 - I received my Master of Science in Education from the College of St. Rose.  Currently, I am working at Northeast Parent and Child Society as a therapist serving children and families in Schenectady County.

Nancy Fullman TCS ’03 - In August 2008, I moved from Washington to Washington, swapping DC for Seattle. Although I miss the East Coast autumns and blizzards, I have fallen for this rainy, adventurous city and I hope to stay in Seattle for at least the immediate future. I recently completed a three year global health research fellowship at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), where I worked on evaluating the effectiveness of malaria interventions and policy initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa. Over the summer, I also received my Master of Public Health in Health Metrics and Evaluation from the University of Washington.

Athena Simpson Choyce TCS ’04 - Completed Masters degree in Communication in Spring 2011, currently employed as an adjunct instructor while planning what to do next.

Stephanie (Light) Eames TCS '04 – She recently married and is the librarian at the Long Trail School in Dorset, Vermont.

Alicen Morley TCS ’04 - I'm currently at Syracuse University studying Political Science. While I intend to become a professor of American and Comparative Politics, the other possibilities are working for the Federal government or participating in a policy generating think tank - if that helps the incoming class understand their opportunities. Being part of the Clarkson School was one of my accomplishments that allowed Harvard, Albany, and SU accept my applications for graduate school. I chose SU for the style and atmosphere (and the full tuition plus stipend). Clarkson students transition well to SU.  After I graduated from Clarkson in '08 I went on to SUNY Potsdam to get a Masters in Teaching 5-12 Social Studies. I like teaching but I'm a researcher - no wonder Clarkson was a perfect fit for me. So, graduate school was the next step.

Spencer Lichtenstein TCS ’05 – I attended the remainder of undergraduate and graduate school in Washington, D.C., studying Neuroscience and Infectious Disease. I have been working in the D.C area since completing graduate school in 2009.

Brian Rautio TCS ‘05 - I am currently working towards the Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Syracuse University.

Luke Netto II  TCS ’05 - I completed my BS in iE&M ('09) and MBA ('10) at Clarkson, I moved to Rochester to pursue a a MS in Telecommunications Engineering Technology at RIT. I am currently completing a co-op at General Electric in Erie, PA and expect to graduate this coming year. 

Ian Doyle TCS ‘05 - In May of 2010 I graduated with a BS in Computer Science and Physics from Northeastern University in Boston.  I am now working for BAE Systems in Nashua, NH as a Software Engineer.

Kaitlin Monte TCS ’06 – She is the current Miss New York 2011. Her anti-bullying platform has her involved with local communities and state legislators, and she will compete at Miss America in January, 2012.

Jennifer McDonald TCS ’06 – After completing my Clarkson School year, I transferred to the University of La Verne and graduated in 09' with a BS in Business Admin and a BS in Child Development. I opened a business this fall and am the owner and director of a start up child development center in Charlottesville, VA. We serve 43 infants and toddlers in a natural, eco-friendly, educational environment. Being a business owner now I truly value the year I spent in the business program at Clarkson. 

Jacob Swain TCS ’06 -  I am currently working as a Web Developer at PixelMEDIA in Dover New Hampshire, where I build and support websites for a variety of clients large and small, all around the world. I am also in the process of starting my own company through Clarkson's Shipley Center. My roommate from Clarkson and I are starting RallyTronics, a company that will provide people going on road rallys and road trips with different gadgets and software to enhance their experience and let them share their trip with friends and family at home. Jenn Riley TCS ’06 - After almost 2 years with Saint-Gobain Abrasives, I am now in the Operations Leadership Program for United Technologies. 

Robert Fraser TCS ’07 - I am currently working for U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) in her Washington, D.C. office. I am also completing my MA in International Trade and Investment Policy at The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs.

Erin Ball TCS '07 - I finished my Masters of Science for Teachers this past May, 2011.  I currently work as a Pre-K through 5th grade Art Teacher in NC.

Kale Harrison TCS ’08 - Since graduating in Dec. 2010, I went to work for General Dynamics at the Electric Boat facility in Groton, Conn.  I worked in Ship Systems for 5 months.  I was offered a PhD scholarship at Washington State University in Material Science and Engineering and started this August.  I am also a Research Assistant to Dr. M. Grant Norton, PhD, performing research in catalysts for fuel cell technology.

Garrett Liddil TCS ‘ 08 - I am now currently employed as a research scientist at SRC, Inc. for the Biotechnologies ATI.

Brenda Wilkins TCS ’08 - I did graduate from Clarkson in May 2011. I am currently working as a Security officer I am pursuing my EMT certification in the spring.

Joe Chiarenzelli TCS ’08 - I graduated from St. Lawrence with philosophy and biology majors this spring and I'm now working for a nonprofit.

Jason Fischbach TCS ’08 - I did graduate Magna Cum Laude from Babson College this past May if you'd like to include that.

Emily Stefano TCS ’08 - I graduated from Clarkson in May.  Now I'm living in Lexington, KY and working at Lexmark International as part of the Inkjet Printer Product Delivery team. 

Anthony Gebo TCS ’09 - The Clarkson School fueled my ambitious personality with what it most strongly desired, allowing for the fulfillment of both my intellectual and personal needs. High school was geared more toward helping everybody pass, where the Clarkson school pushed me to strive for success.

Robert Dufek TCS ’09 - I transferred to Cazenovia College where I am currently a senior. I will be graduating in December of this year with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Studies. I am planning on going into local law enforcement however, at this time I am waiting to complete the officer candidate process.

Christopher Dandrow  TCS ’09 - I attended Finger Lakes Community College in the Video Game Design program and just this fall was one of 4 transfer students accepted at RIT in the Video Game Design and Development program and am currently pledging Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.

Joe Camilo TCS ’10 - I stayed at Clarkson and entered the Honors Program. I am still passionate about engineering and am going to graduate with an electrical engineering degree.

Lauran Kittle TCS ’11 - I am currently attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa and participating in the Air Force ROTC program. I hope to graduate in the Fall of 2013 and continue on to earn my Masters Degree.

Former HA and Office Staff:

Donna Mills Honorary TCS ’97 - I was Director of Admissions and Financial Aid for TCS from 1980 to 1997 at which time I retired to Maine as Regional Rep for Admissions for Clarkson University from my home throughout New England.  More recently, I have been asked at various times to recruit for both Clarkson and for TCS.

Sally Vrooman House Advisor 1986-88 - I am still teaching with Liberty Partnership Program, a NYS funded drop-out prevention program, for students grades 7-12 at Morristown Central School. I taught ESL at Clarkson for a few years and currently run a SAT Prep Workshop for area students. Love to play tennis and ski.

Rico Vitale – House Advisor ’88 - Rico recently became the Field Systems Engineering North American Manager for IneoQuest Technologies, a video monitoring company that serves all the major cable, satellite and fiber optic companies in the US, Canada and around the world. 

Shaili Singh TCS Former Staff - As for an update, since leaving the Clarkson School in June of 2007, I started work at SUNY Potsdam as the Director of the EOP and Bridges Programs.  I remain happily in that position.  My sons Kieran and Colin are now 7 and 4 years old.  They're both a handful, but Judy and I are doing are best to keep up!
