Health insurance is mandatory at Clarkson University. You will not be registered for a term unless a Health Insurance Form is on file in Student Administrative Services.

A new card is mailed to the student and must be submitted each academic year. All students must either have health insurance coverage under their own policy or enroll in Clarkson's contracted insurance.

Claim Procedure
To file a claim under the accident & health plan, the student should:

• Complete a claim form, which is available online at Markel Insurance Company's Web site, www.markelmedical.com or at the Student Health Center.
• The claim form must be completed and signed. Attach all itemized medical and hospital bills. Itemized bills must be furnished with the claim form within 90 days from the date of loss.
• Questions should be referred to the Claims Administrator or the Student Health Center (if applicable).
• Preauthorization and precertification of benefits to providers of medical service are not required nor provided by Markel Insurance Company.
• Claim filing procedures are available online at Markel Insurance Company's Web site also.
