Financial Registration Terms and Conditions

In this Section

Financial Responsibility

By proceeding with the registration process, you are agreeing to payment of Clarkson University’s tuition, fees, room, board and other charges on your student account by the due date, regardless of your expected reliance on third-party resources, including but not limited to financial aid, employer reimbursement, outside scholarships, government assistance or other external resources.

By completing this registration “under seal” you understand that collection activities may continue for up to 20 years.

Late Fees/Student Account Hold

By proceeding with the registration process, you also understand that failure to make payment in full or payment arrangements accepted by the University and in accordance with University policy by the date it is due, your account will be considered past due and late payment fees will be assessed on a monthly basis until the balance is satisfied.

In addition, if you fail to satisfy your balance, you understand that Clarkson University may place a “hold” on your student account. This hold will prevent you from registering for future classes, receiving your transcripts and/or your diploma.

Collection Costs and Credit Reporting

By proceeding with the registration process, you also understand that should your account become past due, it would be considered an educational loan. Clarkson University reserves the right to place your student account with a third party collection agency or an attorney. If this collection process were to commence, you will be responsible for all costs for collections, including legal fees. Costs for collection are in addition to the past due balance.

In addition, you understand that once placed with a collection agency, your debt will be reported to the appropriate consumer reporting agencies or other agencies in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act 11 U.S.C. 1681.

Collection Communications

By proceeding with the registration process, you authorize Clarkson University and its respective agents and contractors to contact you regarding your debt at any current or any future number that you provide for your cellular phone or other wireless device.  You further authorize Clarkson University and its respective agents or contractors to utilize automated dialing equipment or artificial or pre-recorded voice or text messages when contacting you. You also authorize Clarkson University and its respective agents and contractors to contact you through current or future e-mail addresses you provide.

Changes to Financial Registration Terms and Conditions

Clarkson University reserves the right to change the financial registration terms and conditions at any time; therefore, you should periodically review these terms and conditions.
