Field Trips

Being a part of the REU Program also means that you'll have opportunities to participate in fun activities outside of Potsdam. For example, the 2008 REU Program went on a weekend welcome retreat in the Adirondack State Park. We also visited Ben and Jerry's, Intervale Composting, and the Smuggler's Notch Green Machine Water Treatment Center in and around Burlington, Vermont. For the Fourth of July, we were invited on a river cruise of the Thousand Islands (this trip was optional). We also planned lots of informal field trips to Ottawa, NYC, The Canton Dairy Festival, and free local concerts.
