I operated the GPS during the bus experiments and took notes. |

These boxes were used for setup so that we could make sure that none of the inputs were blocked for the multiple instruments inside. |

This was the bus used for the first two sampling periods. It took a really long time to set it up... |

The aethalometer, Innova, and FMPS were powered off of these batteries and inverter. Looks safe, huh?

This is one of the Personal DataRams (pDRs). This is pDR 1, near the bus door...it didn't give us good data.

This is Professor Rossner. We took all logs of speed/location/events by hand...like he'd be doing at this point if he wasn't so tired. |

It was Ryan's birthday the day before the first run. He was pretty hungover...went to sleep at 7 and came into work at 8:30. |

This is the setup for the SF6 tracer gas that we injected into the tailpipe. Flow is controlled with the rotometer, and the tube goes out the window and down the side of the bus into the exhaust pipe. |

Our first activity was a trip to Star Lake in the Adirondacks, where we stayed and got to know each other...and played ultimate frisbee on a sandbar in the lake.

Nate and I made some pretty sweet fires a couple of nights at Star Lake; here's the one where Krunal learned how to make s'mores.

We hiked Bear Mountain on Cranberry Lake, which was more like a hill...fun, nonetheless. |

Yeah, so we went to Burlington, Vermont. |

We ate some really good food at a hippie commune. |

This is the hippie commune's giant compost site. Pretty neat stuff. Good for the environment. |

We also danced at the hippie commune. That's me in the "Steve from Blue's Clues" shirt, making a fool of myself. |

We visited the Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory, got a factory tour, and got to check out their water treatment facility. Very good for the environment, and easy on the stomach.

This is my car. I drove it around to a lot of places.

We also climbed Giant Mountain, one of the 46 High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains.

Here's the summit of Giant. Pretty cool...the view could've been better because it was a cloudy day. |

We did some other outdoors activities including hiking into Stone Valley, a waterfall in Colton....

Jumping off of a rope swing on the Raquette River... |

Taking trips to various other waterfalls in the area, such as Thompson Falls and Allen Falls... |

And camping near the Tahwaus ghost town.

A big group went to Ottawa for Canada Day...this is the Canadian Parliament Building.

And this is downtown Ottawa, towards the end of the festival.

We also participated in the annual "Louisville Goose Drive" on the St. Lawrence River. We rounded up a bunch of Canadian geese and tagged them/ checked their existing tags.

Limecat is not pleased. |

Dan and I played a few songs at Open Mic Night, down at Strawberry Fields' Coffee Shop in Potsdam. It was fun.

We read this book for a Sustainability Seminar this summer. It was pretty good...I'd recommend it.
