Eligibility
Engineering and science undergraduate students expecting to graduate within the next four semesters following the summer research program are eligible to apply. Upon equal qualifications preference will be given to students from under-represented groups in the profession, particularily women, minorities and person with disabilities. 

All participants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

Forms
Each applicant for the Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates will have to provide the following information, by the application deadline March 1, 2009:

1. REU Program Application Form
   • On-line (recommended)
   • Downloadable: reu_app.pdf (147KB)
     
     
2. At least two references, each in a sealed and signed envelope
   • Downloadable: reu_ref.pdf (14KB)
     
     
3. Official undergraduate transcript(s)
   
   
4. Statement of interest in the program, limited to two pages (e.g. state relevant experiences and why you would make a successful researcher)

Even if you complete the on-line application you still need to have the references, transcript(s), and statement of interest mailed to our offices. Please send the completed application portions to:
