About the Laboratory
The Laboratory for Intelligent Infrastructure and Transportation Technologies
(LIITT) at Clarkson University follows an interdisciplinary approach to addressing
the needs of managing an aging national infrastructure. The laboratory focuses on
utilizing emerging technologies to address existing challenges and new demands in the
transportation and infrastructure sectors. Some areas of expertise and research are:
- Bridge Load rating and structural health monitoring
- Vibration monitoring and modal analysis for condition assessment of structures and machines
- Roadway and bridge design
- Sensor development and deployment
- Winter maintenance practices
News
- We have completed experimental modal analysis as well as a load rating
a 3-span bridge in Waddington, NY. With assistance from the NYS Department of Transportation and
the St. Lawrence County Highway Department, we were also able to record acceleration and strain responses
from the structure following prescribed scenarios of structural deterioration.
