Digital Arts & Sciences: Research Opportunities

In both classroom and research undertakings, as a Digital Arts & Sciences major you will have access to state-of-the-art technology in such facilities as:

  • Virtual Reality Discovery Laboratory
  • Clarkson Open Source Institute

Clarkson will help you develop your research and creative abilities through an extensive portfolio development process. At the end of the day, you will have a digital portfolio, demonstrating your creative abilities and technical prowess in multiple media, such as digital videos, interactive multimedia, scientific visualization, digital animation, or Web-based educational materials. All of this is part of Clarkson's emphasis on rigorous professional preparation, real-world learning, and teamwork.

DA&S students have ample opportunities to work with faculty members in affiliated departments (Math, Computer Science, and Communication & Media). Faculty in these areas have a rich tradition of working with undergraduate students on research and grant projects. On some occasions students get to accompany faculty members to professional conferences and to participate in presenting the research. Some current examples would be:
