Where Can Civil Engineering Take Me?
Civil engineering offers an enormous range of career opportunities. Fields include: structural design; water, oil, gas, mineral or other resource and land development; transportation and hazardous waste management; and general project management. The degree may lead to a career in making airplanes, spacecraft, ocean liners, or submarines, or to medicine, dentistry or law. Civil engineers work for industry, government and as specialized consultants. Many start their own firms.
Co-ops and Internships
We strongly encourage civil engineering students to take advantage of co-op and internship opportunities. Through Clarkson's Career Center, you can choose among a broad range of summer or semester professional employment opportunities.
