PUTTING A HUMAN ON MARS
Ever since I was young, I have dreamed of being part of the space team that one days puts a human on Mars.
As a sophomore at Clarkson, I developed an idea for interstellar space travel that reduces the timeframe for missions. My design makes use of external acceleration stations strategically placed throughout the solar system. Electromagnetic slingshots for interstellar probes.
Using such as system, unmanned space probes could research their destinations in a matter of a few short years rather than decades.
That caught the attention of NASA.
After that, I spent my summers at NASA's Jet Propulsion laboratiry working on the 2009 Mars Rover Project.
It begins with a vision. It is fueled by a passion. Each day I am closer to fulfilling my dream.
