To attract students of color into Clarkson University's undergraduate and graduate programs at the bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. levels, the University has established articulation agreements and/or memorandums of understanding with colleges and universities with a high concentration of African American, Hispanic or Native American students. Colleges and universities include Atlanta University Center (AUC), Tuskegee University, University of North Carolina @ Pembroke, and North Carolina A&T University. Each year a member of Clarkson's faculty or staff visits the school and speaks with students and faculty to encourage them to continue their educational careers in one of Clarkson's engineering, science or business graduate programs.

As a result, a number of students from the above institutions have participated in Clarkson's McNair post-baccalaureate summer research experience and others have continued and graduated from Clarkson's master's programs.
