Parents of Prospective Students
Clarkson takes a strong interest in the success of your student. It starts with our academic program. We're ranked as a top national university by U.S. News & World Report, and with 3,000 students, we are one of the smallest schools in that category. That means your student will receive more personal attention in our rigorous program. We also want all of our students to pursue their life goals. That's why we emphasize spanning boundaries. Students are not limited to one department, one field of study or a single extracurricular activity. With a curiosity that crosses disciplines, our students often explore various interests.
That could be why one out of every seven Clarkson graduates is a CEO, vice president, or owns a company.
You will want to visit campus life to find out more ways your son or daughter can get involved, and also spend some time in our residence life to find out about living and dining facilities. You might be interested in our Career Center where we detail the co-op and internship opportunities, and where you can see the names of some of the more than 150 companies that visit campus each year. You may also want to get involved in our Parents Association, which promotes active parent involvement in the University.
But the first thing we encourage you to do is come to Potsdam and take a look at the University in person. We think you will like what you see.
