Patient care experience: NYS Paramedic

Why Clarkson? I chose Clarkson because I had met the professors while they were working in the clinical setting, at local clinics & EDs.  I found them to be knowledgeable & great with patients. When I found out that the providers I had learned to look up to could potentially become my professors and mentors, I jumped at the opportunity

Best part of PA school? It is intense! But I wouldn't change it for a thing.  Our time with our SIM man is my favorite, because it allows to use what we are learning in the classroom in a more clinical setting.  Thinking on your feet is not a skill that you can fake, & this class works to remind us why working as a team is so important & how to strengthen those skills.

Advice to applicants: Take good pre-req’s, PA school moves SUPER fast, & being able to build on what you already know will help you a ton! Also, spend as much time as you can with PAs and patients as you can! Nothing can replace the ability to effectively speak with your patients.
