Fraternities and Sororities

Fraternity or sorority membership, while not for everyone, can be a great complement to any academic program and serves as a real-life experience. The nationally and regionally award winning Clarkson University fraternity and sorority system, begun in 1903, consists of 13 recognized chapters: three international sororities, six national and international fraternities, four local fraternities.

The fraternities and sororities have been above the all men and women averages for the past six years, evidence of their dedication to scholarship. Our fraternity and sorority community has received three awards since 2002 for the greatest grade-point average above the all-campus average in the Northeast.

Male students may join a fraternity starting their sophomore year if they have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and are in good academic standing. Female students are eligible during the spring semester of their first year, if they have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and are in good academic standing. Those active members that maintain good academic standing and a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average may qualify to live in and dine at their respective fraternity or sorority chapter house.
