Filtered Ports

There are a number of ports that are filtered at the network edge. These ports may be filtered for a variety of reasons, including:

• Network security - these ports are filtered because they constitute a threat to the security of computers on campus
• Network performance - these ports are filtered because their use can be detrimental to the overall performance of the network
• Acceptable use - these ports are filtered because the applications that make use of these ports are in direct opposition to Clarkson's Acceptable Use Policy
