St. Lawrence County Mathematics Partnership Program

Faculty and students from Clarkson University and the associated colleges work together with 300 local teachers of mathematics and science. This program is funded by NY State in the No Child Left Behind program, Title IIB. The primary goal is to “increase academic achievement of students in mathematics and science by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers.”

One-day workshops, week-long summer institutes and ongoing support with students visiting classrooms to work with teachers on incorporating more applications and problem-based learning into their mathematics curriculum at all grade levels. The program is coordinated through the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES with Clarkson as the lead higher education institution. More Information

Students also have the opportunity to get involved as coaches to local schools’ MATHCOUNTS teams. Our local program also includes Clarkson Mathletics a similarly styled local event held in November. More Information
