Black Appointed Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Clarkson University

Kelly Black has been appointed associate professor of mathematics and computer science at Clarkson University. He began teaching in August.

Black received his bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and his master of science degree and Ph.D. in numerical analysis at Brown University.

Before coming to Clarkson, Black was a visiting assistant professor of mathematics at North Carolina State University, an associate professor and assistant professor in the department of mathematics and statistics at the University of New Hampshire, and an associate professor of mathematics at Union College.

His professional interests include the analysis and implementation of numerical techniques in scientific computing and the implementation and analysis of spectral methods with experience in multi-domain techniques.

Black is the author or coauthor of almost two dozen professional articles and has made numerous presentations at conferences and colloquia. He is a member of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
