Three Clarkson Faculty Honored for Research Funding Levels

Clarkson University faculty members were recently inducted into the school's "Million Dollar Club" and "Multi-Million Dollar Club" for the significant amounts of external funding that their research has garnered.

At an October 13 reception, the University president, provost, faculty and staff honored Bayard & Virginia Clarkson Biology Chair Edward Moczydlowski and Egon Matijevic Chair Sergiy Minko for their induction into the Million Dollar Club, and Robert A. Hill Professor/Distinguished University Professor/Dean of the Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering Goodarz Ahmadi for his induction into the Multi-Million Dollar Club.

Clarkson conducts cutting-edge research across the curriculum in business, engineering, health sciences, liberal arts, and sciences, with a hallmark emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and research projects that lead to practical applications.

Areas of prominent research focus at Clarkson include advanced materials, biotechnology, environment and energy, entrepreneurship and global supply chain management. During the fiscal year 2005-2006, Clarkson researchers brought in more than $19 million in external funding, the sixth new annual record in a row.
