Sixty-five senior citizens, 38 college students, and five honored guests were entertained at the Winter Wonderland Ball, held recently in the Barben Rooms of Clarkson University's Cheel Campus Center
The event was a community service project designed, organized and run by Clarkson students in the Entrepreneurship, Management and Organization class.
Residents of Potsdam's Lawrence Avenue Apartments, Midtown Apartments and Mayfield Apartments danced to the big band sounds of Dave MacMillan and the Villagers and posed for pictures by student photographer Michelle Dillon.
The Winter Wonderland Ball was the culmination of a semester's worth of work by this year's Entrepreneurship class, who, like their predecessors were required to form a company to sell a product, then use the profits for a community service activity. The students formed "Comfortably Numb" and sold out their entire inventory of 300 wool caps in the school colors. The students then mulled over many options for a community service project before endorsing the dance.
