Distinguished University Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering S.V. Babu, former director of Clarkson University’s Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP), was recognized this spring by the Intel Portland Technology Development CMP staff.
A plaque, recognizing Babu and Clarkson's 20 years of chemical planarization (CMP) research was presented to him by Matthew J. Prince Prince of Intel at the North America CMP User's Group meeting in Portland, Ore.
In particular, the recognition honors Babu for over 100 CMP publications, 40 conference proceedings, and 25 patents; two edited CMP textbooks; more than 40 Ph.D. / M.S students in the CMP industry; and his chairmanship of the Clarkson CAMP CMP Symposium for 20 years (1996-2016).
In presenting the award, the Intel staff said that over the past 20 years their team has collaborated with Clarkson on multiple SRC/Intel funded CMP research projects and that "in the area of academic CMP research, their results are unmatched and distinguished."
Babu served as director of Clarkson’s Center for Advanced Materials Processing from 1999 to 2016.
