Tom Langen, Chair of the Biology Department, and Professor of Biology and Psychology at Clarkson University traveled to Costa Rica to teach a graduate short course on at the National Autonomous University of Costa Rica, on Applying Animal Behavior to Wildlife Conservation and Management. The course was taught in Spanish.
Professor Langen also delivered a plenary talk at the 4th Latin American Symposium on Impacts of Human Infrastructure on Biodiversity. His speech was called 'Roads & Animal Behavior - Changes and Impacts at Small and Large Scales'.
Professor Langen organized the first symposium in 2007. Other symposia have been held in Costa Rica, Panama, and Mexico, and include local and international presenters.
