The Clarkson University Student Association will hold their second annual Dodging for Dreams dodgeball game on Sunday, October 16, at 1 p.m. on the Hantz Turf Field, Clarkson Ave. in Potsdam.
Each $2 registration fee will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. A complimentary team-headband will be provided to all participants on the day of the event.
If you would like to take part, stop by the Student Association office in the Clarkson Student Center weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or e-mail email@example.com. You can also register on the day of the event, starting at 11:30 a.m.
"We started Dodging for Dreams last year to break the record for the world’s largest dodgeball game with 1,700 players," said Michael Welch, Student Association president. "We fell short by about 1,000 people, but we still had fun.
"This year we aren’t trying to break any world records, mostly because a new one was set at 4,000 participants in September by the students of Brigham Young University and Utah State.
"The only record we care about beating is last year's. The more people we can get on the field the better... 500? Not bad. 1,000? A lot of fun. 4,000? Hey, you never know!"
Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in five alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world’s pressing issues. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and health sciences, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
