The National Players, the touring company of the Olney Theatre Center in Olney, Maryland, will perform one of William Shakespeare’s most popular comedies The Taming of the Shrew on Thursday, October 13, 7:30 p.m., in Clarkson University’s downtown Snell Hall Auditorium.
The National Players is beginning its 57th season and has given approximately 5,875 performances and workshops on plays by such writers as Shakespeare, O’Neill, Moliere, Shaw, Kafka, and Aristophanes. The performers are chosen from among the most talented university theater programs, and in the tradition of traveling players, they are totally involved in every aspect of the plays they perform. The National Players are committed to the development of theater audiences and leave time at the end of their performances for a Question and Answer period.
Clarkson University’s Office of Co-Curricular Education and Programming is sponsoring the performance of The Taming of the Shrew. The performance is free and open to the community.
