U.S. News Ranks Clarkson University Among Country’s Best Engineering Graduate Schools - Three Engineering Majors Singled Out

Clarkson University is once again among the top universities in the United States, according to U.S. News and World Report. In its recent edition of America’s Best Graduate Schools 2005, U.S. News ranks Clarkson’s School of Engineering 24th overall in the engineering specialty of environmental/environmental health, 62nd in civil engineering, and 85th in mechanical engineering.

Each year, U.S. News ranks a variety of professional-school programs, including engineering. Rankings are based on expert opinion about program quality and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. Data for rankings comes from nearly 1,300 graduate programs, and approximately 9,600 academics and professionals.

Clarkson was ranked among the Best National Universities in U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges 2005 issue this past August. The University was recognized as one of the “Best Engineering Programs” whose highest degree is a doctorate. In addition, the 2005 rankings Web site recognized the University as offering one of the “Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs” in the nation and ranked the Clarkson School of Business 14th in the nation for its supply chain management program. The April issue of Entrepreneur magazine also ranked Clarkson as one of the top 100 U.S. collegiate entrepreneurial colleges and universities.
