Clarkson Graduate Student Association Raises $400 For Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Pediatric Services
“[The GSA] has provided an outstanding example for others in our community to follow,” said Richard Krasnauskas, president and CEO of Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.
The Clarkson graduate students, under the leadership of environmental engineering graduate student and GSA athletics chair Joseph Osso, raised the money through a “Digs for Kids” volleyball tournament open to Clarkson faculty, staff and students. More than 65 people participated in the fundraising event. The money raised was donated specifically for the Hospital’s Children’s Room.
“We wanted to make a donation to the local community and Canton-Potsdam Hospital was an ideal place to help people in need, especially children,” said Patricia Jablonski, engineering science graduate student and GSA communications and Web coordinator.
The Clarkson GSA was established in 2003 to address graduate education issues and to promote knowledge and resource sharing, networking, and socializing among graduate students across disciplines.
