John M. Wicke Of Massena Named President Of Clarkson's North Country Alumni Chapter

John M. Wicke of Massena, director of operations for Penski Inc., has been named president of the North Country Chapter of the Alumni Association of his alma mater, Clarkson University.
Wicke graduated from Clarkson with a bachelor’s degree in management in 1992. He succeeds Robert R. Burns ’59 of Potsdam, a retired Potsdam village administrator, as president of the North Country Chapter.
In addition to being employed with Penski, Wicke also sells real estate and serves on the board of trustees of the Village of Massena.
Wicke has been an active volunteer for the Clarkson Alumni Association and served on the Annual Fund Committee. He is also active in the community, serving on the board of directors of both the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and the St. Lawrence County Leadership Institute. Wicke serves as a St. Lawrence County political committeeperson and is a member of the St. Lawrence County Society of Human Resource Managers and several other community organizations.
Robert Burns, who served as president of the North Country Chapter for five years, will continue to serve the chapter as a board member. He will also serve the Clarkson Alumni Association as a member-at-large of its Alumni National Executive Council.
The mission of the Clarkson Alumni Association is to engage and empower alumni as partners in the Clarkson community, nurturing pride in their alma mater and promoting the interests of Clarkson University and its alumni. Regional chapters organize various social and professional events.
In addition to the North Country Chapter, the University has established chapters in Boston, Mass.; Hartford, Conn.; Burlington, Vermont; New York City/Long Island, N.Y.; Northern New Jersey; Syracuse; and the Albany Capital District. Chapters in Buffalo and Manchester, N.H., are currently in the development stages. In addition, Clarkson alumni activities are held in over 50 cities nationwide.
