Clarkson Fraternities And Sororities Sponsor Second Annual Food Drive To Benefit Local Community
Fraternities and sororities at Clarkson University are conducting their Second Annual Food Drive, November 9-16 to solicit donations of food and raise awareness about hunger in the North Country.
All food donations will help support the Potsdam Neighborhood Center and the St Mary’s School Thanksgiving Basket Project and help prepare the community for the upcoming holidays and winter months. These events are also being conducted to bring awareness to the plight of the misfortunate and needy in the surrounding community.
“Last year’s drive was very successful and we are hoping that we can pull together as a community to assist those in need again this year,” said Jason C. Libby, director of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Clarkson.
Drop-off boxes and information about the drive and its beneficiaries will be located at Clarkson’s Cheel Campus Center, and the Big-M and P & C supermarkets. Community residents are encouraged while shopping to purchase extra canned goods and supplies to donate to the food drive.
The Clarkson University Golden Knights are also supporting this undertaking and are asking individuals attending the Clarkson – Bemidji State hockey games on November 22 and 23 to bring non-perishable food items to donate.
