Anne Sibley Named Clarkson University Director Of Public Relations
Potsdam, N.Y. -- Former Guilford resident Anne Sibley, daughter of Fred and Peggy Sibley, currently of Naugatuck, Conn., has been named director of Public Relations at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. Sibley is a graduate of Guilford High School. She currently serves as director of Public Relations at SUNY Canton College of Technology in Canton, N.Y.
In her new role, Sibley will be responsible for shaping Clarkson’s overall public relations strategies and program. In particular, she will work with regional, national and business media.
“Anne brings strong experience and versatility to this position,” said Chris Ritter, director of University Marketing, in announcing her appointment. “We are very pleased to have someone of Anne’s caliber representing Clarkson.”
“Throughout her career, Anne has demonstrated the ability to identify critical initiatives and lead them to a quality result. Anne was our choice for this position because of her knack for seeing things in a new perspective, taking risks and taking action. We feel she will have a strong and positive impact on the Clarkson marketing program.”
Sibley led and managed a wide variety of communications efforts at SUNY Canton, from helping to create their Web site, to upgrading their admissions marketing and publications. Prior to her current position, she served as senior assistant to the president, director of Sponsored Research, director of the Student Support Services Project and coordinator of the Reading & Writing Lab at SUNY Canton.
Sibley holds a master of education degree in educational administration and a bachelor of science in biology and English literature (Phi Beta Kappa), both from St. Lawrence University.
She has served on many college committees and is a member of the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She is a Trustee of the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg and has also been involved with the Colton-Pierrepont Dollars for Scholars Community Scholarship Foundation.
Sibley resides with her husband Chip Jenkins and three children, Noah, Andrew, and Clare, in Colton, N.Y.
