Foster And Tritman Elected To Clarkson University Board Of Trustees

Everett G. Foster of Clayton, N.Y., investment management and office manager with Tucker Anthony, Inc. in Watertown, and Steven M. Tritman of Boston, Mass., chairman, CEO and director of USDataCenters.com Inc. of Marlboro, Mass., have been elected to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees. 

Everett Foster has been with Tucker Anthony since 1978, serving as a managing director, a regional manager and a member of the board of directors before being appointed to his current position.  He is also a member of the firm’s recruiting committee and the Chairman’s Advisory Council.  Prior to his current position, he worked at the Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. from 1967-68 and at Foster & Adams from 1968-78, where he was a general partner and the branch system manager.

A native of Plainfield, N.J., Foster graduated from Colgate University in 1964 and received his MBA with honors in finance from Boston University in 1967.  While in school, he was a radio operator with the Navy Reserve from 1964-65. 

Foster is involved in a number of community and philanthropic organizations, including the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT), where he is board of directors treasurer and chairman of the Decade and Beyond Campaign, which has raised $1.2 million to date.  He is founding president of Friends of Hobart-William Smith Rowing, raising money to build a new boathouse and create an endowment. 

Foster is a member of the Samaritan Hospital Foundation board of directors and chairman of the Samaritan Society, where he also chairs the Special Gifts and Finance Committee.  He also sits on the board of directors of the Thousand Island Association’s Canadian-American Alliance and is chair of the capital fund drive for the Hawn Memorial Library in Clayton.  He is the former president of the United Way of Jefferson County, former president of the Watertown Family YMCA and a former member of the Watertown Town Board.

Foster resides in Clayton with his wife, Judith.

Steven Tritman took his position with USDataCenters.com earlier this year. In 1995, he founded Performance Enhancement Systems and served as its CEO and director. Before that Tritman was president and director of The BSC Group (1986-87), Innovation Associates (1987-89, 1990-95) and Litle & Company (1989-90). 

Tritman began his career at Texas Instruments, serving as marketing manager from 1969-76.  He then went on to serve as general manager of the discrete semiconductor operation for Sprague Electric Co. (1976-77); as vice president, component products group and president of Aritech Corp. at American District Telegraph Co. (1977-80); and president, chief executive officer and director of Medical Area Service Corp. (1980-86). 

Tritman graduated with distinction from Clarkson University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  At Clarkson, he was president of Tau Beta Pi and vice president of Eta Kappa Nu, both honor societies and was listed in Who’s Who Among Students.  Tritman also lettered in varsity tennis.

Away from the office, Tritman is chairman of the board of advisors for the Clarkson University School of Business.  He is also on the board of governors of The Skating Club of Boston and the executive committee of the Fire House Neighborhood Association.  Tritman is also a member of the CEO Management Group.  He is a former director of Lifeline Systems, Inc. (1984-88) and a former member and forum officer of the Young President’s Organization (1993-97).

Clarkson University is an independent institution located in northern New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.  The University has 2,902 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program.
