Sutcliffe Named Clarkson Associate Director Of Research And Curriculum
Rebecca J. Sutcliffe of Potsdam has been named associate director of Research and Curriculum Innovation at Clarkson University, effective July 1. Currently, she is the associate director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
Sutcliffe will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating University-wide academic efforts to seek funding from various external agencies and organizations for research and curriculum development programs.
In addition, Sutcliffe will work with Division of Research staff to develop, review, and update University policies relating to research and technology transfer. In the fall term, Sutcliffe will also teach a course in public speaking for the School of Liberal Studies.
Sutcliffe brings a set of excellent credentials to her new position. As associate director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, she has worked with faculty and administrators to raise funds for the “Campaign for Clarkson” from corporations, foundations and organizations.
Her professional activities include membership in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and service on a number of Clarkson committees. She was formerly assistant professor of English and associate member of the College of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan.
She holds a Ph.D. in English from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, where she was a fellow of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRCC).
Sutcliffe resides in Potsdam with her husband, Clarkson Professor Brenton Faber.
