Brown-Shor Of Morristown Named Associate Director Of Clarkson Career & Professional Development Center

Barbara Brown-Shor of Morristown was recently appointed associate director of the Career and Professional Development Center at Clarkson University. The Alexandria Bay native is the daughter of the late Vicki Virkler Brown and George A. “Coach” Brown.
Brown-Shor’s primary responsibilities are career counseling and advising; student internship coordination; assisting with the corporate college recruiting and relations program; workshop facilitation; coordination of the peer adviser program; coordination of alumni programs and graduate school fair; and faculty liaison responsibilities.
Prior to her arrival at Clarkson, Brown-Shor was a guidance counselor at Ogdensburg Free Academy (OFA) in Ogdensburg. She was also an administrator at Mater Dei College, serving in various roles, including director of Admissions and director of Career Planning and Placement.
Brown-Shor received her bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY Cortland and a master of education in counseling and development from St. Lawrence University.
A one-time professional skater for Ice Capades, Brown-Shor has chaired the Alcoa Foundation Sons and Daughters Scholarship Committee, and has served on various committees while at OFA and Mater Dei. She resides in Morristown with her husband, Eban.
