Abrantes Of West Stockholm Recipient Of ASEE Fellowship
Antonio E. Abrantes of West Stockholm, N.Y., a graduate student at Clarkson University, is the recipient of a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship from the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
The 36-month fellowship is awarded to those who are seeking a Ph.D. in their respective field, and covers full tuition and mandatory fees.
Abrantes, a native of Gouverneur, N.Y., is a 1992 graduate of St. Lawrence University with bachelor’s degrees in geology and environmental studies. He is also a 1996 graduate of Clarkson University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. In 1998, he received his master’s in civil engineering, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in civil engineering.
ASEE is a non-profit member association founded in 1893. The Washington, D.C.-based organization seeks to further education in engineering and engineering technology. More than 12,000
deans, professors, instructors, students and industry members are members in the organization.
